5QUAD Community Guidelines
Effective date: 31 August 2026
5QUAD exists to get people off their phones and into real games. That only works if the community is safe, reliable, and fair. These Guidelines explain what we expect. They apply to everyone and form part of our Terms of Service. Breaking them can lead to warnings, removal of content, loss of officiating privileges, or removal from the Service.
1. Core principles
Show up. Play fair. Respect people. Keep everyone safe. Report problems.
2. Respect and safety toward others
- No harassment, threats, hate speech, or abuse, on the pitch or in chat.
- No discrimination or targeting based on who someone is.
- No violence, intimidation, or dangerous play.
- No sexual harassment and no unwanted contact.
Treat other Users the way you would want to be treated at a local game.
3. Meeting in person
Games happen in the real world with people you may not know. Use your judgment:
- Meet at the public venue for the game.
- We do not vet or run background checks on Users. Decide who you play with at your own discretion.
- If someone makes you feel unsafe, leave, then report and block them.
4. Reliability
Other players are counting on you. Repeatedly failing to show up after joining a game hurts the community and affects your standing on the Service, including cooldown periods that limit how quickly you can rejoin. If your plans change, leave the game so your spot can go to someone on the waitlist.
5. Chat
Lobby chat is for coordinating the game. Do not post spam, links that violate our rules, abusive language, or content that breaks any part of these Guidelines. Chat is deleted when the match result settles. Reported messages are kept only as evidence for moderation.
6. Photos and images
- Only upload a photograph of yourself that you have the right to use.
- No offensive, explicit, or infringing images.
- Do not impersonate anyone.
If you own rights to an image used without permission, you can report it in the app or contact us, and we will act on valid complaints.
7. Fair play and rating integrity
- Report results honestly.
- Do not manipulate ratings, deliberately misreport scores, or misrepresent your skill level to gain an advantage.
- Respect the outcome. Disputes have a proper channel (Section 10).
8. Women-only spaces
Some games and competitions are for women only. Gender is self-declared and gates access. Joining or trying to join a women-only activity in bad faith is a serious violation and will be enforced through reporting and moderation.
9. Officials' code
If you record results for a fixture, you act as an Official. Before your first assignment you must read and agree to this code in the app. It is binding on every fixture you officiate.
- Neutrality. Never officiate a match you play in. Decline any fixture where you cannot be impartial, including games involving your own club, close friends, or rivals.
- Fair reporting. Record what happened and nothing else. Your entries finalize immediately, carry your name, and are auditable.
- Respect. Zero tolerance for abuse, on the pitch or in the sheet. De-escalate, record, and report incidents. Never retaliate.
- The sheet is truth. Goals, substitutions, and the toss are recorded as events. Captains may dispute a result; resolution belongs to the Organizer and moderation, not to you.
- Safety first. Injury stops play, every time. The clock can wait; a player cannot.
- Accountability. Breaking this code removes your Official privileges and can lead to removal from the Service. Your acceptance is recorded with your account.
10. Reporting, blocking, and disputes
- Report a User, message, or game from the player card, roster, or chat, choosing a reason (harassment, no-show, inappropriate content, safety, intellectual property, or other).
- Block a User to stop being matched or placed with them. Blocking takes effect immediately.
- Result disputes: after an officiated match, a team captain may raise a dispute, which is reviewed first by the Organizer and, where a conflict of interest exists or on escalation, by our moderation function.
11. Enforcement
We review reports and act on them. Depending on severity and history, we may:
- Warn the User.
- Remove offending content.
- Apply a temporary suspension.
- Remove Official privileges.
- Permanently remove the User from the Service.
Serious safety issues can result in immediate removal without prior warning.
12. Appeals
If you believe an enforcement decision was wrong, contact support@5quad.io. At this stage we log disputes and review them; a formal appeals process may be added over time.
13. Changes
We may update these Guidelines as the community grows and as we learn. Material changes will be notified through the Service.
